The Masters degree in Conservation Leadership at the University of Cambridge is a full-time, 11-month course aimed at graduates of leadership potential with at least three to five years of relevant experience in biodiversity conservation. Based in the University’s Department of Geography, a unique feature of this course is its delivery by members of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI), a partnership between six university departments and nine conservation organisations or networks based in and around Cambridge. The teaching focuses on issues of management and leadership, with the dual goals of developing conservationists with enhanced research skills and a greater awareness of the complex drivers of biodiversity loss, while also developing their ability to act and lead effectively. The course aims to deliver a world-class and interdisciplinary education in Conservation Leadership that is not available elsewhere.

We are pleased to confirm that the Miriam Rothschild Scholarship Programme in Conservation Leadership will continue to provide scholarship support to outstanding students from less developed and developing countries that are rich in biodiversity, to attend the Masters in Conservation Leadership. The number and size of these will vary from full scholarships, to partial scholarships that cover specific aspects of the funding package required by students. Applicants are also encouraged to seek out funding opportunities that might be available locally or nationally.

Conservation Leadership Program (Conservation Leadership Through Learning)

Society is faced with some of the greatest challenges in history, from climate change to biodiversity loss to energy security and beyond. We need leaders who think differently, embrace complexity, and see the human and environmental condition as one intricate system. The Conservation Leadership Program is a new 24-month Master of Science degree that will prepare students to be a part of the next generation of conservation leaders who will tackle these dynamic challenges. In August 2012, approximately 20 students will begin an intensive educational journey in the United States and Mexico. Also referred to as Conservation Leadership Through Learning (CLTL), this program merges transdisciplinary university education with real-world action to train leaders who can deliver on-the-ground benefits for conservation and communities. By reaching far beyond the classroom walls, students will develop the knowledge and real-world skills to become effective conservation leaders making a difference for the environment and people’s lives.

CLTL is a partnership between Colorado State University’s Warner College of Natural Resources and El Colegio de la Frontera Sur in Mexico. Australia Development Scholarships 2011/2012

Background
Scholarships have played a significant role in Australia's development cooperation program in Indonesia, with around 11,000 scholarships provided over more than 50 years. ADS continues to be a major component of the program with up to 400 scholarships offered in 2011.
The off-shore component of the ADS Program is managed by IDP through an IDP established ADS Project Office in Jakarta to ensure efficient end effective administration of the ADS scheme in Indonesia.
Each year, the Australian Government sponsors people from a number of developing countries to study in Australia through Australian Development Scholarships (ADS). The Australian Development Scholarship program in Indonesia aims to promote private and public sector human resource development in areas of agreed development priority.
This is achieved by providing post-graduate scholarships for Indonesians to study in Australia and by working in close cooperation with the Indonesian Government to deliver a program which is flexible to Indonesia's human resource development needs.
Consistent with the principles of AusAID's education and training policy (August 1996), the ADS program is implemented to ensure: quality (of project personnel, fellows and procedures); transparency (of selection); equity and merit (in the awarding of fellowships); access (of beneficiaries to scholarship documentation and information); and consistency (in award administration).

Tuition fees are covered by the award. In addition to the fees, a stipend of c. £13,290 per year is available. Candidates for PhD degrees at Middlesex University are always initially registered for an MPhil award, and then transfer to a PhD after successful completion of a transfer examination, usually a year after commencement of the research.

SCHOLARSHIP: M.Sc. Scholarships in Renewable Energy Science in Iceland

RES | the School for Renewable Energy Science in Iceland is now accepting applications for its one year (90 ECTS credits) international M.Sc. Degree Program in Renewable Energy Science, for the academic year 2011-2012. The RES Program will in February 2011 complete its third year of operation when 49 masters degree students from twelve different countries will graduate. The students this year are specializing in four different fields, namely Geothermal Energy, Hydropower, Fuel Cell Systems & Hydrogen, and Energy Systems & Policies. RES also offers a specialization in Biofuels & Bioenergy. In the near future the school will as well offer specializations in Wind & Wave Power and in Solar Energy in cooperation with foreign partner universities.

RES is a private institution of higher learning, a graduate school, affiliated with the University of Iceland in Reykjavik and the University of Akureyri in North-Iceland. RES is seeking limited number of highly qualified students to enroll in the M.Sc. Degree Program. A number of Scholarship Awards are also available for outstanding students, including e8 Scholarships and RES tuition fee waiver.

We would appreciate if you could kindly discuss our M.Sc. Degree Program details and scholarship opportunities with some of your top students interested in pursuing a degree in renewable energy in Iceland. Currently 81% of primary energy in Iceland comes from renewable energy sources, highest of any nation. Essentially 100% of electricity generation in Iceland is already from renewable energy sources and over 99% of space heating. Therefore Iceland is a good example for other nations to follow on their route to a more sustainable energy future.

RES is also looking to further expand co-operation with leading international universities, as academic and research partners for the M.Sc.
